Sure it matters. At one point up 100% meant I was up 100%. Now up 100% means I’m only another 200% from being up 100%, the value is literally the only thing that matters. % is meaningless

 

In 1929 the Dow fell 102 points in a single day. It fell another 200 points the following 3 days. So a total of 300 something points. Those 300 points started the fucking great depression. Why? Because it was fucking 29% of the market's value. Percentage is the only thing that matters

 

And if it went up 29% the next day, it’s still down. If it went up 300 points the next day, it’s back even.

And if it went down 75% like my BBIG, and then went up 10%, it’s still down a shitload.
