Anybody else notice the trend that when marketwatch, motley fool, seeking alpha, {insert stock article provider} says that "this one stock is positioned to do really well" that it tanks?

I'm starting to think that I should use those articles as "you should sell your stake in X".

I've bought into the hype a few times and thought "Yeah, that seems to hold water." only to be left feeling like it I'm holding a bag. When I see those articles on stocks that I already own, I have seen the trend that they tend to decrease in value.

SJIM is similar - it's an ETF that trades inverse to what Jim Cramer says to do.



SA Etc probably just use chatgpt et. al. to pump out articles about stocks, I wouldn't put too much weight into them.

 

When i first got into it, Seeking Alpha seemed to be on-point for most things of interest. Now, it seems to be crap, just like everything else.

 

Yep, sucker in the retail guys. Right before big money sells volume tanking the price. Someone’s getting paid under the table for those articles.

 

They're all owned by hedge funds. That's the business model.
