Oh I closed out and went to Fidelity FSKAX was a big draw too, same idea as VTI but lower ER and split to fidelity as another institution, like that really matters. Kept my VTI, but future investments and VTI dividends are going toward FSKAX for now.

 

Jeep rubi prices are dropping. Taco looking scared in the driveway. I'd have some sympathy, but I want that solid front axle more than the Toyota name.

I've also got a 2023 Nissan Frontier now, and that thing drives way better than the taco does. Mines a fleet truck, but its still got a 9 speed transmission, disk brakes on all 4 corners, manual climate controls, and a better infotainment system. Between the tacoma and the frontier, if I had to drive one of them across the country it'd be the nissan without a second thought. It's actually comfortable to drive all day. 4 hours in the taco and I'm ready to push it into the ocean.

He's never taken that thing offroad, and furthermore, there's nowhere in MA you can actually take that truck offroad. We'll leave the full hydro for us west coast folks that have rocks to climb

 

lol when I started this new job, I told the owner I wanted a new pickup. I specified a Tundra, but I lost that argument and got the Frontier. It's honestly not a bad truck for zipping around doing sales shit like I do. When I was hired on, I got the first brand new off the lot truck in company history. The other sales guy who's been there for 7 years was like, "what the fuck, yo?" He's getting a brandy new half ton company truck though. His patience and the company's growth over the last 5 years is paying off.

I just showed up from a BRK company and said "here's what I want to come work for y'all" And it fucking worked. Thanks Uncle Warren!

 

FIL has the 2023 Frontier in army green. Man that’s a good looking truck. He gets 24mpgs I gave my truck the side eye when he brought it by to show us

 

I think I was BSing in the degenerates chat, I was at an offroad park this weekend. I saw a whole ton of different types of jeeps, mostly wranglers but a fair amount of XJs and a few YJs. From stock to built to hell. A ton of different types of Toyotas and Lexus' (I group them the same), 4runners, GXs, LCs, etc. There was a bunch of hummers but it was "hummer weekend". I saw ONE 3rd gen colorado. I think, might have been a second gen, I didn't spend much time diagnosing. Otherwise I have seen maybe 2-3 Frontiers, and 1 ranger (in person, internet is a different story).

It depends what you want to do. The Tacoma aftermarket and mod scene for wheeling is DEEP. If I was having a fleet truck/road only/gravel road warrior like yours, I'd almost certainly be in not a tacoma.

Tacomas drive like bricks on wheels. They're meant to be "truckity" trucks, verses the modern day "family sedan" trucks. Not sure on the 4th gen though, could be leaning more that way.
