Sticker for my basically full optioned 2020 TRD OR long bed and I thought that was absolutely outrageous at the time. I did get them to knock off the Tint, Door Edge Guards, door cups, and Nitro tire fill (lol). I told them to take off the $90 chrome exhaust tip and deduct that, but they wouldn't do it.

I was the sales manager for the Toyota forklift dealership in Reno for years. Our mechanics and their mechanics wore the same uniforms. I know exactly how Toyota prices, finances, and add-on upsells their vehicles, and I know how their sales people, finance, and managers are paid.

I had also been looking for a quicksand long bed tacoma to show up somewhere ever since I had bought my 2016. I saw one hit the lot and called them to hold it so I could come down and take a look. They told me the same thing I told people during the pandemic. "It's here, no holds, if you would like to buy it, here's the price."

And so I bought it over the phone. I wasn't in Toyota's sales world at the time, but finding a truck you want that shows up on the lot was worth a few bucks extra, since you can't have a Tacoma built to spec from the factory.

You can with forklifts, however. You can order any forklift you want with any option if you're willing to wait for the build slot. Can't do that with Toyota cars.


Long story short, I impulse bought the truck I'm driving even though I knew better lol

I still couldn't believe they actually price out the Trd off-road package like you could get it removed from the truck… That's just what it is. And of course $45,000 back then it's like $53,000 now with just regular inflation.

 

Just getting back to that upper middle lower plateau.
If it keeps this up, I'll have enough to daytrade again…
