Another interesting observation...
Vehicle LEASING back on the way up?? The 20 somethings cannot afford a down payment so they just lease for 2 or 3 years and "Pay what they can afford" which is way more than what they get out of the vehicle intrinsically, but for $400 a month they have reliable transportation for 2-3 years...

and then zero equity in 3 years...

With rates an auto prices where they are leases weirdly make a lot of sense right now vs buying new.

3 years later the lease cost in total may well be less than the depreciation hit.

 

One of my coworkers just leased a Truck...his intention is to buy it out at the end...but he can't afford it right now...best option was a lease...
He gets to see if he likes the truck and if it's still in good shape after 3 years and has held it's value, he'll buy it...if it depreciates, let it go or negotiate...

 

This would probably be more bad if most modern cars were worth keeping for more than that. Most people 'buying' a car are going to have nearly the same time of ownership anyway so it's a bit of a wash in a way

Meh. I like the Yahoo portfolio tracking, I use Morningstar too. I don't do much other than track long term holds anymore nowadays.

Nvidia sells knives 2 to 3y of R+D more advanced than anyone else on the market.

I've seen all their guidance for the past 10 years. They will be the most valuable US company by the end of this decade. Possibly much sooner. AI is only one of the irons the have in the fire. It's just the biggest iron. And it's about to get much larger. lol

 

I agree, I expect them to become the market cap leader within 5 years unless one of the other big dogs surprises with their own entire fab teams and foundries which....doubt.

I've been using TurboTax for years, so I stick with it since it pulls all my info forward.

 

Check your wholesale clubs and local libraries if they have free or other discounts. I think my library has one.
