I also regret NVDA, and ETN. Dumping into those I could be retired too.

At this point i'm pretty convinced that Cohen and DFV are both just wanna be corporate raiders, and cryptic memes and showing off successful moves is the new 'monthly letter to investors/shareholders'. Both having some behind the scenes knowledge of the market and/or similar goals led them to see the same opportunity in GME and they've been keeping their enemy closer till about now

Ok something is really fucked up with Fidelity trailing stops on options. I had a trailing stop set today for $30 to exit at $290. The options dropped all the way down to $230 and never sold. They were still sitting there with no execution I had to go in and cancel the order and then manually sell them $60 under my exit price.

 

correct me if i'm wrong, but I was always under the impression that trailing stops can be leaped over depending on how it was set. Based off a % movement vs a $$ movement? So if a set price, say .05 never hit, it went from .06 and the next sale was .04, then the limit trail stop wouldn't be sent?

I'm definitely not 100% on that!

 

Gaps. Trailing stops are vulnerable to pricing gaps, which can sometimes occur between trading sessions or during pauses in trading, such as trading halts. The execution price can be higher or lower than the trailing stop's trailing amount or trigger price; the trailing amount or trigger price only indicate at what price you want the market order to be submitted.

No. The risk is it's worth $100, you set a $10 trail...it becomes a MARKET sell order @$90.
If at $90 it's already dropped to $70 you only get $70.

it's not a big issue w/ options with enough volume and low volatility.

You can miss a lot of $$ on volatility (like $gme)

You might want to verify with your broker that it becomes a market order. With E-Trade, if I set a trail, it triggers that as a limit order. If the price falls far and fast that limit may not hit. With high volume stocks this is almost never an issue but low volume stocks it can be.
