Still think TITNC3: Return of the Iceberg was peak

Dipped my toes into options last week. Got some $52 ASO calls (friday expire), I was down 50-90% for most of it, then yesterday I was up 25% and took it and sold. Then ASO went back down and the calls I sold were back down to nearly worthless... well this morning I wake up and see ASO at $53 and the calls were worth 3x what I sold for... damn it!

 

ya, that sound like what options do. It's a dangerous game

 

So I bought the $115 $NVDA 9/20 call expecting $125 but now we're already there.
Decisions. if I close it out, the market will go gangbusters Next week.
If I hold it over the weekend, we will tank by Monday

 

I had the same choice this week... I made the wrong choice and sold for a couple bucks... ASO hit 55 today, my call would of been worth a ton if I had just held it. But also I know if I held it, ASO would of tanked and I would of lost my money.

 

The other "option" is you sell/roll your call and buy whatever call is now at the price you paid for the original...
Same $$ risk, lock up deep in the money profits...

 

hmmm... Interesting. Im new to options, so I really should learn about them before I start losing all my money.

 

Can't lose money if you always sell when you have profit...

 

Thats what I did this time. I only got 1 contract for $45, sold it for $55, its was worth $340 today . But I will take my $10.

 

No need. Most of the words here are just made up.

 

For example,
you pay $750 for a 9/20 $115 call.
It's now 2x it's value.
You can ROLL that to a longer call....
So now you can by a $135 10/24 for $750 and it's "Free" because you recouped your profits...Or you can BOGO...get 2 for 1 by 2x up your exposure (this can be VERY profitable in a bull run...ask @theesotericone )
OR you can buy a single call at the total $$ a 11/24 ATM $125 call for $1400....

 

Man if that isn't the cromflumblest asternation I've seen since the delofster scandal!

Keys to investing success:

If it's a very expensive product that turns people into skeletons and has lots of government funding -- Invest
If it's wholly unethical and furthers control and oversight of your life and has lots of government funding -- Invest.

The best companies to invest in are those that have lots of government funding and make products that no sane person would endorse. Literally can't go tits up.

 

Since part of my compensation is in company stock and I just sit on it, I have been doing OK. And the fund manager for my 401(k) is apparently making decent decisions.
