I buy shares. I’m not that kinda guy with options yet. Although I def timed nflx correct

But what I see that as, that’s an insanely high premium for a weekly that far away from going ITM

pick almost anytime this last 10 days to buy COIN leaps and they probably went nuts too

So on the 14th I was looking at the Jan 2025 $100 calls for $80-100 but low volume...so the prices seemed tough to establish...

WELL....
Glad I didn't fall for the ASK OF $100 when the BID was $80...
It only would have been $1700 in gains per contract in 4 days...

 

Somebody pissed in the markets cheerios today...

Also, I hope someone doesn't get a job selling games at gamestop for a few hours

 

One of my friends is $TSLA heavy...his portfolio was up nicely today..

I asked him a few months ago if he sells weekly calls on his shares (he has more than 100 and they're long term)...so he took an online class on options trading and is practicing with ToS paper....

 

Well if he sold anything monday good news it’s paper

 

Good teaching moment....I told him that because he doesn't HAVE to sell a call he can wait for things like an earnings pop and capitalize on it. The $300 call for JAN is $1300

 

Aint no way that expires ITM. and If it does oh fuckin well he got good gains locked in and he moves that $ else where

 

Yup, he owns at under $100/share and is long. He should be mining those shares for money on weekly calls...

 

Reset another cycle on $NVDA today. Set a $100 trailing stop at the open...triggered shortly thereafter and rebought just after Noon....
Fingers crossed for a successful fifth round...

Bought the NOV 1 $130 at $600. Sold on the stop loss today for $1150.

Today I bought multiple $145's for Friday @$129. I'm not looking to have anything much in play through Tuesday the 6th for no reason...But if an opportunity arises....I can roll or close and rebuy.

I'm looking for a rebound to $145+ by end of day Thursday that would easily cover the cost of the contracts and I can sell back 1/2 so 1/2 are free and ride out a Green (optimistic) friday...
For the past several weeks it's been dipping monday and running into friday.
$GOOG has earnings tomorrow and a nice pop could help the sector and pump up $NVDA

 

Take a close look at the MACD on the daily timeframe. Set a tight stop loss.

 

My whole "RIOT in OCT" thing only has a few days left to play out but playing it is. Earnings tomorrow after the bell and BTC wants to rip. Only up 37% so far. lol

 

My feeling on $RIOT was if they couldn't make money over the last 2 years with bitcoin ripping, they're incompetent or absorbing profits through payroll....
Bitcoin up 100% on the 1 year... S&P 32% $Riot up 6%....that's losing vs inflation....

Now if you had just gone with $MARA which nearly mirrors bitcoin

That was my whole point about going heavy into RIOT. 10 months ago it divorced from BTC. IMO, buying RIOT at the $7-9 range was a no-brainer. When it finally marries BTC again, which might be soon, it's returns should equal MARA and BTC. MARA has working capital of $270M as of June. RIOT has a working capital of $690M as of June. All metrics point to RIOT as the stronger company. Why the street decided to piss on them I have no idea but once they flip the script I'm gonna be just fine. lol

 

Imo bitcoin stays going up through the end of the year. Reason being, i don't really think this is bitcoin going up right now; it's the US dollar that it gets compared to that's going down. Printing hasn't stopped, just gotten more covert. The dollar has a lot of adjusting to do still and the spending around cold weather and holidays will do bit of correcting on how much money supply is really out there
