One question that should have been asked was
"If there is not an active enticement to get users to buy stocks, regardless of their intrinsic value, and social media has no influence on your products popularity and use, why then do you maintain listings of the "Most popular" stocks on Robinhood? What purpose would this server other than Fomo?"

Don't get me wrong, that list has led to some profitable puts

 

I feel betrayed by tacomaworld now..eh this site has cost me a few grand of unnecessary truck mods so in a way I paid my dues

 

It's been a wild few weeks that's for sure...part of it feels tied to GME and this whole short squeeze/retail investor/reddit phenomena.
some of the stuff is just 'normal' market stuff, but fundamentals are mostly out the window right now, things are pretty frothy, and there have been some major parabolic plays.
At the same time, the market is way forward looking so it's already 'past' COVID.

i think the volatility is here to stay for at least a couple more months...if COVID vaccine rollout slows up, the party gets a little quieter...as long as things 'seem' to be on track...stocks can keep rocketing.
FED is down for more $$$$. Admin is down for more $$$$$. We're gonna spend to our way out...worry about the bill later..

i missed the middle part of it...but DFV was on point!
a handful of politicians were making it about politics...
some actually had some legit questions and knew market mechanics...
there were moments when we got a little more truth.
lots of shit isn't being said..and it's prob cause some of the market fundamentals are difficult and as you said 1/2 wouldn't know the difference between a put and a call.

allegedly there's more coming...so hopefully SEC gets to be at one, or at least there's some actual hard line fact questions...
Vlad saying "we had all the capital we needed" to saying "oh, we needed more capital to back the trades" to "see we did a good job and got BILLIONS in additional capital (despite shutting down buy side), y'all should be happy we didn't have to shut down the entire platform."
