I'm really tempted to jump into AAPL with a few grand, but I know the minute I do it'll just go sideways forever again lol

 

yeah, me too. My nieces custodial account went nowhere for years as AAPL was stagnant. I gave her the $ to open a roth IRA and bought her some TSLA. Of course AAPL went up after that.

 

I don’t know what you are all expecting of AAPL. As an owner for over 5 years now, looking back at Jan 2016-Jan 2017, up 25%, Jan 2017-Jan 2018, up 35%, Jan 2018-Jan 2019 stagnant, but that’s made up for from Jan 2019-Jan 2020, up about 100%, and Jan 2020 until now, up about 70%. I’ve got no complaints

 

I started buying it about 2.5 years ago and have more than doubled. Maybe some lucky buys but I didn’t try to time it.

 

Yea, it may not be a 25% in a day stock, but definitely been a good one for those of us that hold onto stuff I guess

 

The recent EV news is why it's moving now.

Agreed. I have moved around with selling Apple and buying other stocks. If I would have just kept my initial investment, I would be so much farther ahead. I have shares and sell covered calls when the time is right. I also buy leaps. (options that are ~6 months plus out.)

 

I just had to buy an iPhone last week for the spousal unit. She abandoned our long heritage of drag and drop file systems with expandable memory capability. "My whole family uses iPhones, this will be easier." Was the argument I got.

If you need me, I'll be customizing my android phone however I want and loading a terabyte of movies onto the SD card.

 

I used to build Android ROM's as a hobby. Part just to prove I could and part because they made Android better. Almost every feature that custom ROM dev's created was adopted by Google ASOP. I haven't even rooted my current phone because Android has come that far in usability. I used to joke that Google was brilliant. They created a free open-source platform that anyone could work on to improve. There was a ton of us doing just that. Then Google just adopts the code. Free labor. Genius. lol

I kinda miss modding my galaxy, but it was just to get features i needed like usb tethering for free, like they should be. I've never owned an apple product, just traded it a few times.

I still visit xda forums just to see if anybody has brought my Motorla Xoom tablet out of retirement. Th ebattery is still good and I run a custom rom on it just for videos of races that I time.

I bought ICLN and GE calls today. June exp just a touch out of the money. They both got slaughtered after an event which we aren't allowed to talk about because even though "events" move the markets it's apparently not something acceptable to discuss in a thread about investing.

Also cleared out my BB calls and shares. Losses on both. Figured that was going to be a winner with all the good news. Turns out the anticipated good news was priced in.

Bought VALE shares after dumping BB

Added to my PLTR dragon's hoard as well today with the dip. It might be a couple years until it gets it's momentum, but by god, when it does, I'm going to be rich.
