what do you use to mine it program wise. Or do you have a link to instructional article/video? I've got a gaming pc I built not too long ago that I'm sure could churn through some doge.

technically, its not mining DOGE, its mining alt coins and converting to DOGE. Nicehash does the same thing but converts to BTC. I mine using Nicehash, if I want more DOGE, i send some BTC to my Bittrex account and convert it. I think DOGE uses Scrypt which is dominated by ASIC (dedicated) miners.

Complete idiot. He should just walk away until he understands what he is doing, what the market is about, and can become emotionally unattached to his investing decisions.

What’s your mining setup? Do you have to solve algorithms etc like I’ve read or is it
automated? I know next to nothing about it. Happy I got in pretty heavily in crypto when it was tanking a week or two ago. Todays been a good day

I'm a former gamer and I designed racing sims for a while so I have high-end graphics cards lying around. Since i pay for my electricity, I only run a 1080ti and a 1050ti (1050ti's cant mine the big coins but they als orun off motherboard power, not additional feeds needed) during off-peak hours. I also have 2 1070's in my work pc. I get about $100/mo on nicehash but back in the day when I was mining ZEC on a pool, I was making $700/mo. with a rig that had 5 1080ti's and a 970gt. those days are gone. ASIC miners come out and ruin the small miners profit. Now I just use it for fun money and to offset my electric bill which is around $180/mo.

Yup...I still remember building a PC like 10 years ago and thinking people were crazy for spending $200 on a graphics card to try and mine a coin worth $200...What's the point...

I feel like if I was going to mine a coin btc or eth would make most sense because those as of right now seem to be 2 of the coins that one day may actually become usable currency. But I am no crypto know it all nor super good w pc’s. Where would someone go to find tutorial/info on how to start mining those coins on a normal computer rather than the fancy mining rigs?

mining rigs when I researched it were very specialized and didn’t provide a useable type of pc.
More like an appliance you leave on.

I was about to build a monster miner back in 2011 as I was in an apt building that included my electric.
I had just built a BADASS video editing pc and was really into the building process.
I didn’t bother because the value of coins was not really worth the extra time.
    Boy was I waaaaaaaaay wrong.

I'm talking about a very small setup. I've got my gaming/Editing PC from 2 years ago which at the time was as good as it got. I'll be moving to an apartment soon that will have electricity included so constantly running it won't be an issue. And who knows maybe I add a dedicated miner down the road since I'll be in those apartments for a good while. I know dedicated miners are the efficient way but I've got the pc might as well use it even if its miniscule amounts.

Pull up your pantaloons for next week boys. It's looking like we're gonna have a week like this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OHyVRkmla_Y

Small holders, here we go. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MgXEL2tpTqc

Furthermore, if you haven't watched Black Sails, it's basically game of thrones but with pirates (equal amount of gratuitous nudity). AND, the last season was amazing, unlike GoT. Prequal to Treasure island. Watch that shit.
