Still think TITNC3: Return of the Iceberg was peak

I've been told that like 3 times but I still can't find where to verify the type of account. My bank account was linked Saturday as well but I'm not sure if that has an effect.

for real though IMAX is the only reason I go to the movies. For a standard screen experience I get a better show at home

I called before and asked to get my account fixed, (2 accounts existed because the site crashed when created but still went through) and I asked them about options and and an ACAT transfer and they said that transferring ONLY shares was possible.

I just filled out the form myself online and submitted.

I called the next day to see how it went and asked about the options. I got mixed answers from the few times I called and they called back. It shouldn't have effected my options but that's how RH does it.

I would recommend calling with any questions you can't find answers for. Fidelity's customer service is outstanding and extremely knowledgeable.

 

Thanks for the info. I’m getting more and more scared leaving my GME in RH. I don’t have Fidelity though. I’m wondering if I should just transfer them to my E-Trade account or open a Fidelity account.

 

After RH shut down buying I opened an account with E-trade, Webull, and Fidelity. I decided to go with Fidelity because of the positive reviews and my parents use them too haha

 

FWIW, I have been very happy with Fidelity.

 

I just opened a Fidelity account on my phone. Very easy and quick. I’ll be transferring those 10 GME shares later today most likely.

I haven't looked at my fidelity account after they told me linking my bank account to the correct account would take a week.. after I already linked it online to all my accounts and it linked it to just one the wrong one.. They took priority with their new users instead of existing users...

RH still sucks the most.

Fidelity has the best push notifications for price action. TD sometimes gets delayed as much as 10 minutes. For whatever reason during the texas power outage it was really delayed.

 

It's funny, I use WeBull because I like their custom notifications. I think I'll use Fidelity and Webull now. One to tell me decent action, and one to tell me when it moons

 

So other than tax implications - is there any pros/cons to doing a transfer vs. just selling in RH and buying in another broker? Specifically for $GME. I have some long holds in RH I’m not worried about and I’m not touching until at least 1yr+1day since I bought but I’ve been in and out of my $GME a lot over the last 2 months so I’m not concerned with the tax on those and I also don’t plan on those being a long hold, moon rocket pending...

 

There is literally no reason you should sell stock just because you’re changing brokers. Imagine if you will your stocks are in a folder. That folder is managed by RobinHood. When you change brokers that folder it’s just handed to your new broker and they manage your stocks.

For a fee, and you have to put trust in RH to do it all, in a timely manner.

I can transfer money into Fidelity, or whatever broker, and buy the # of shares I have in RH, then sell those shares and be done. No fee. No worry about timing or RH shenanigans

 

Hopefully for lower or equal to what you initially have in it.

 

As long as it doesn’t drop from the moment I hit buy in one app and sell in RH it should be a wash but then again I would probably be the lucky one who hits buy just as they pull the rug again and watch the other account crash and burn
