This will help with taxes if you do this continually
That's why I like Gemini. Active trader mode via P.C. fees are a TINY % and fixed....vs the "Buy with the ap, pay $xxxx" each transaction....

It seems to be way less fees if you buy coins with Coinbase pro and transfer to Coinbase. Than you don’t pay a deposit fee and whatnot. But I just started using a Coinbase awhile ago, so I know nothing.

Or just hang on to positions of intrinsic value and not value that is arbitrary or superfluous. You may not want to be holding onto most kinds of cash here either. The thing is the value behind things is not going away but the number applied to their (supposed) value is going all over mostly up. --Through inflationary practices like printing money and lending in circles like that post explains the fed is doing with repos. Kinda like the other thing Mr Burry (a serious value investor) has been going on about for months besides a liquidity crisis; ..an inflation crisis. The number to your investment might be called yuans eventually but if you're investing in something that can handle a crisis it should still be there and so will it's value. Cash may not be so safe

The catch with calls and puts in a crisis situation is someone has to be on the other end to pay you for winning the play. If everything crashes the currency may not exist to pay you with. You gotta hold valuable equity or assets that people would be willing to trade for it

We should all go in together and buy a few thousand acres somewhere with decent wind for electricity and plenty of fresh water on site.

We can start some sort of bizarre commune.

This whole PS5 thing is bullshit. Remember the PS3 launch disaster? The one SONY said it would not let repeat itself with the PS5? Yeah, it's worse. I guess odd numbers and getting things in production are a problem for them. I'm so pissed at this point I'm waiting for the PS6.

Processors and chips are in a black hole of unavailability across the entire market of electronics right now. 30 series GPUs are still like mythical unicorns, and I've still never seen a PS5 out in the wild yet.

Good news is they're building more facilities in some more stable countries. Bad news is, it's a couple years to build those facilities.

Better news, my company sells a lot of products into those facilities :D

We should have never let chip manufacturing leave the US in the late 90's.

Since this is your field here's a question. Who else besides Intel is manufacturing chips in the US?

Aside from Intel, I think Texas Instruments is the next biggest fish that still mfr's here. There's lots of semiconductor companies around, but nothing what you'd consider relevant to the market as a whole.

Edit: I'll add, we manufacture a shit ton of semiconductors here in the US, and a ton of them go for export, but they're generally very specialized.

Fun side note. I racked out and put forklifts and dock equipment in an Intel facility in Arizona probably 6 years ago, and now I'm selling them PPE for their manufacturing personnel inside the clean rooms. The gift that keeps on giving no matter what job I have lol

TWSC and Samsung both have 5nm in production and Intel's still scratching it's head at the 10nm level. Maybe they'll be able to reverse course. Maybe not.

AAPL has it's M1 chip now. Surprise. Made by TWSC.

GOOG is rumored to be bringing it's own SOC to the Pixel 6. Surprise. Most likely manufactured by Samsung.

I don't follow chip manufacturing with any sort religious dedication, but I've heard whisperings that aside from the wuhan screwing up supply chains and logistics, the raw materials are getting harder and more expensive to procure. We'd essentially be in a deficit of chips at this point anyways, but the pandemic just put the cherry on top.
