Welp I just transferred every share of the stonk to a new fidelity account. It says expected 4/15. I tried to switch my robinhood account to cash only (which I ONLY use cash, never margin) and couldn't find it, looked at a statement and it said cash account, then scrolled down on one of my statements and sure enough those shitheads had my GME shares as margin. IMO, that was insanely deceitful. That was the tip of the iceberg.

To be honest I like trading options for random shit on robinhood and it also laid out the fundamentals far better than any platform, but I fucking hate them for obvious reasons (I.E. As a young boy in bulgaria I didn't let people buy GME, or something like that).

 

Weird, Ive never used margin, always used cash in my account to buy, but it lists both my GME and ASO as margin.

 

My take on GME and hedge funds, specifically Melvin and Citron (right?) - they had shorts, they got squozen. Reddit et. al. did not do that, they were just along for the ride. The real money and effects were caused by other firms that had enough money to actually influence that, not some rag tags on reddit. They've just become a scapegoat etc.

 

Well after seeing that its listed as margin in robinhood, I have submitted a transfer to my webull account. Here is to hoping GME doesnt moon in the next 5 days.

Couldn't tell you - but I can tell you, if it has been or will be, it's not from Reddit...

Institutional ownership is at 103% (source) which is what DFV and others identified as an over-sold position, which is what creates a short squeeze. So, buying GME was to go along for the ride.

Looking at the institutions which do own it...



We can easily see that the influx of buyers and holders on Reddit needs to be way above and beyond what they're actually buying and holding to have any appreciable, significant effect. MAYBE reddit was responsible for a dollar or two of the squozation. However, what DFV saw and put out on Youtube, etc - each of these firms has dozens of people that identify that kind of position of any stock on a daily basis, that's their job. So all of these buyers are doing the same thing - identified a short squeeze potential, and gobbled up shares, at a WAY higher effect than Reddit could manage.

Reddit's buying and holding was riding the wave, not causing the wave.

Of course institutions are the ones that move the needle, they're the ones with billions of dollars to throw around. Here's what I think you're missing though.

WSB has 9 million users alone. Lets assume half of them own GME, and of that half they each own 10 shares. I personally think that's a very conservative estimate. That's 45m shares. Then look at Europe, who's top purchased stock across the EU for months now has been GME. That's easily another 20m. So we're up to 65m, which is close to the float from just two sources. You've also got Asia, South America, Canada, etc.

Why retail is important is because we own the float at least once again from the original.

I would not be surprised one bit if Reddit alone owns the entire float and then some. That's why Hedges are fuk. As long as we don't sell, and we haven't been, they have no escape.

I personally believe the float is owned somewhere in the neighborhood of 300% or more. There's a lot of synthetic shares that were created and shorted. And now we own them all.
