It's happened a few times, usually when they're desperate. Rate goes down to 0 with no shares left, I think they did both (borrowed all they could and there's none left).

Iborrow doesn't update it after there's none left (for some reason i'm not sure of)

But they were wrong. It didn’t continue down to pre squeeze level like they said. It went back up. Also, many shorts held through the VW squeeze knowing it would settle out. Same thing here, only retail didn’t let them out at the end of this one. So they could still be stuck

Pretty much. I'm expecting volatility but can't be sure in which direction. By buying OTM puts and calls at different strikes I am sure to capture that move in either direction. If it trades between $130 and $135 it's worse case scenario for me so I'm betting it won't.

 

I only use CNBC because their active tickers work easiest. Otherwise that was just the first "Volkswagen vs. GME short squeeze" article on google. There are plenty others. I don't care about CNBC vs. anyone else, they're all pretty similar.
