Some shit I got on craigslist
Sorry to bring up ol' shit, and perhaps it'd be better to ask DTF, but do you think there's any chance of frame flex with this bumper since you hacked out that smaller front x-member? Any chance of that, ie. twisting/ motor mount popping? I'm considering bulding/buying somethin' like this when I get my truck back from frame replacement (scared to chop brand new frame though). I'm guessing you'll tell me that the bumper acts as a new x-member, but I figured I'd bug you anyways. Thanks. Sick truck.

How do you like the stock length lowers? They feel a lot stronger than stock I'm sure

    Yes, I sold my '13 Taco. :'(
Pff, you got ADS with the nifty clickers & a baller ass RTT.... your truck > mine hahaa

Currently, no. BUTTTTTTT I do have a 42 Draft Designs catch sitting collecting dust which I do plan to install eventually. Just one of those "mods" that take a bit of finagling to get to fit cleanly. Being manual + SC, the firewall space is a but different than the autos simply because the clutch fluid reservoir location. Thanks for reminding me though haha

;) SC was one of the best things I ever opted to have installed on my truck without a doubt. Extra oomph is always a plus in my book. Luckily I got mine before the price hike & the eventual termination of the TRD SC program. *sigh*

    Thanks man! :)

WHY YOU GOTTA BRING UP OLD SHIT!!!! Lol, all good just foolin. To answer your question, not at all in regards to the frame flex. The small X-member needed to be hacked off isn't anything honestly other than something to mount the stock skid plate on. You'll notice 90% of long travel setups on Tacomas will have full prerunner bumpers in the front, most of them hacking off the front lower x-member. It really isn't crucial unless you have it in your intentions to return it back to 100% stock----which, theoretically you could just weld the x-member back on.

Love them! However, the "feel" of the stock length lowers in day-to-day and even off roading really isn't palpable. If I was running bypasses bolted to them, then it would then technically "feel" different. But as it stands now, it's a mod done for strength more than anything. Just attacking another weak point, which in my books is always good to do.

I have the SC too. Had to make a bracket to fit the can in a little hole. It's a little difficult to get my can off, but it looks pretty good. I need some angled fittings to clean it up a bit more. image.jpg

Back to the SC, did you need the new fuel pump for the smaller pulley?

It's recommended. I installed a Deatschwerks 255 fit mine a couple years ago. No issues. Plus you gain the benefit of an easy to replace/easy access fuel filter

Oh yah, thanks for reminding me it's still in the damn box. hahahaha.....I'll PM u first thing it's built, but man not anytime soon. So damn busy, barely even have time for WALKS let alone rides. *sigh*

    Anytime homes! :)

NICE!! Clean install. I'll have to figure something out with my brackets......where you mounted yours on, I have a ton of relays for my aux lighting.

As far as the fuel pump and smaller pulley, IMO, it's a no brainer. I know there are people who will preach the fuck out of the stock fuel system being "more than enough" to support a 2.85 pulley setup, but that's not how >>>I personally<<< would go about insuring my setup is reliable. I'm running the Walbro and have had zero problems. Deatschwerks/Walbro all good all reliable brands. I've been owning/modding forced induction vehicles for a longgg time....I don't play around with stock fuel pumps when the boost increases over stock. My $.02

^^^What he said. The external fuel filter is very nice to have when it comes time to changing it. Just an added bonus.

I ended up building two new bikes this season. Totally unplanned, but they rip so I'm happy
