Anyone front diff drain plug stuck? I just got past 500 miles but can’t get the plug off. Tried low torque impact, mid torque, now I’m starting to yield the hex...

Pray that works if not gunna find a welder. This is so dumb. Ordered the Lexus plug for whenever I can get this one off.

I hammered the hex into the plug and was able to get it to work. Take your time, if it starts to slip hammer it again. Be ready to swap with the Lexus plug

I'm telling you heat it up! The front diff plug gets glued on with heat. I heated mine up the second time around and it came off like nothing.

Normal leakage or something loose? Still under year from install.

    Mods? Yes, oh yes..
torque it down and see if it continues to leak. can also just remove it and replace the crush ring and clean all the surfaces and check fill level. honestly, you are gonna change it in 500 mi, its fine till then.

sorry should have been more clear, gears have 5k miles on them, still under a year from install though, and the 500 miles gear oil change was done a week after install.

nothing to worry about. seep happens. check the torque and if its still leaking replace the crush washer and wipe all the surfaces clean. be thankful its not your 3rd member seal. mine was toast and barely hanging in there when the gear change happened. lol its a pita to do without a lift.

edit, I didn't see the other pic (broken image icon). yea take it back and have them replace the seal.

Yeah I figured that would be the case, unfortunately I live 7 hours from them. Trying to figure out if it would be better to have someone local fix it.

yeah probably be more cost effective just to get it done local, you know what a shop charges for changing the seal?

Also, I know everyone’s gears are louder than others, but mine at freeway speeds on decel right as I let off the gas are super loud.
