Normal seep, just clean the area and monitor. Change out the washers when you can and you're good to go. Dont even need to drain the diff oil to change those washers too.

Normal seep for when they dont change the crush washer (or its the flat washer, I forgot) and you reuse it - Mine looked like that on three trucks where I did the same thing and didn't get new washers till the 2nd rear diff fluid change at 10k. Yes you're right, the gasket failed

That's not just the fill plug leaking, that's the gasket around the 3rd member that was reused and now leaking. Big job for a $10 gasket

Which picture are you looking at? Sorry maybe we’re looking at different ones.

Agreed, pulling out the axle shafts to take out the third is annoying. Beats the front though anyday. Whatever leak it is, Premier will take care of it.

I posted two pictures of the diff, it’s leaking from the drain bolt and the other side.

That's actually the fill bolt, easy fix. It's the other side that is the problem

That is what I meant. Fill bolt. Other side that concerns me.

I ran 33's for a few weeks before I bumped up to 35's. The power was nice but the rpms are pretty high on the highway (for my liking anyway)

What was the GB price on both gears?

I am thinking of getting 4.56 gears for my 2nd gen auto Tacoma.

Is everyone happy with Miguel and the shop? I read through this page and there were some issues folks had.

I ran 4.88's and 35s on my 2nd gen and loved it. Thats the best combo in my opinion - I wouldn't do 4.56 and 35s if you're auto.

    I did the calculation.

    Stock Tacoma V6 4.0 Auto:

    30.6 tire @ 70 mph with stock gearing = 2064 RPM

    My modified Tacoma:

    33.86 (34" tire) @ 70 mph with 4.56 gearing = 2281 RPM
    33.86 (34" tire) @ 70 mph with 4.88 gearing = 2441 RPM

4.88's might be too much for me. All my camping spots are 4-6 hours of freeway driving so I believe 4.56 is better for me. Also, i'm always cruising at 75-80 mph.

I am auto. On 33 skinnies, with a grip of weight. Truck is my daily, don’t do lots of long distance at highway speeds, but love cruising around 70. I’m pretty content with the pizza cutters, but sure I won’t rule out going to 35”s. I feel if I go with 4.56 I’ll regret it, but not sure if 4.88 is the way to go.
