Cool, thanks! It seems like the package that tacomabeast sells is cheaper considering it requires the touch screen, kit, wiring, amp, etc.. Am I seeing this right? It is listed on that site for $1489.
Well I see that PAC sells the kit for $429 (and shipping) and Amazon sells the Heigh10 for around $1k. I guess is doesn't seem to matter. the One exception is the loss of PVM on the heigh10 (that's the birdseye view).

I would contact PAC and there may be a solution for that.

I'm not sure about the OEM mic, as I am using the on-board mic on the Heigh10 (sounds great). Mine was a 2019 TRD Pro and had no mirror cameras, so I can't speak on it, but I would think it would be dead easy. Or pretty easy... I quite like the unit.

I put in the front camera so far. I purchased two for the mirrors. I have to remove each mirror one at a time so I can take it into the machine shop I work at and drill the holes needed to mount them.

@sharkytowers did you lose any of the dash capabilities? Does the pitch and row in the cluster still appear on your trd pro?

You lose the turn by turn navigation and the music info on the dash. Other than that, everything else looks to be retained.

But don’t you simply get the turn by turn navigation off your phone? The way I understood it is the navigation I have on my phone will come up on the 10” screen.
I also believe the unit is capable of applying other map apps.
I am no tech guy and have no idea how any of this works

Also, what cameras other than the oem’s are people using with this unit and why?
I wanted the paragraphic view in my truck but couldn’t get the package (because the rest of the world sucks right now)
I got the stock TRD sport audio system and ordered a Stinger replacement unit. I assume it comes with a back up camera I can use but want to upgrade now if necessary.
I have heard but haven’t verified that there are aftermarket birdseye view cameras.
Has anyone used or know of one that works with the stinger in the taco?

So if you use Carplay or Android Auto, yes the turn by turn will come off your phone and be on the stereo screen. I know Google Maps works on both. I'll try out Waze when I run my errands in a bit and report back. But I'm pretty sure it will work fine. I also saw someone using the OnX Offroad map on Youtube with this deck.

I am using the Natika cameras from Amazon. Have those on the front and the back. Your truck should have an OEM back up cam that you will re-use during the install. Then you can add whatever you want for the rest. You'll have 3 open spots for more cameras. Front, left side, and right. I don't have any experience with a birdseye camera.

Yep, Waze works just fine on this deck.

Lots of good information. Thank you. I'm looking for a camera that will look over the back of a camper shell, and maybe, (dreaming) one that will switch to a forward view of the road. Does that exist? Also what are the benefits of a Heigh 10 system? What is it for? I'll look it up but just wondered if it was worth the money.

If you make your rear camera the one on the shell and add a front camera, there is an option in the camera settings to make the front triggered by TSS. I selected that in mine. So in my truck, after I shift out of reverse, it will toggle automatically to the front for 20-30 seconds and then switch back to the radio. Is that what your dreaming concept is looking for?

As for the benefits? Access to Android Auto and Apple CarPlay if you didn't have it. Bigger screen. Better sound than OEM. More camera availability without additional modules.

You can even adjust the RGB values in the control color settings to make it match OEM, ha.

    And it looks stock.

Looks great. I wish there was something that fits like that for the 2nd Gen.

Does this keep use of Sirius radio or is there a tuner that needs to added?

I have this unit as well. Its great with Apple Car play. I cant get it to work with my wifes Samsung S21 Ultra though. It will start to run Android Auto for a split second and stop. Cables have been tested with other cars and her phone works fine. Stinger mentioned others with the S21 ns new S22 having issues as well when we called them.

My factory reverse camera on my 2017 TRD Offroad is pretty fuzzy with it too, other than that I love it. I had the JBL system before.

Other brands of headunits will display tire info and additional gauge screens, does this have that functionality?

I have a 2019 TRD OR with the non JBL stereo. Trying to install the Stinger unit.

Where does this satellite connector attach to? I have Sirius XM on the OEM stereo.C93B18F6-8AE6-4342-B05D-EBD7D13E3C53.jpg

Same thing happened to me after I crammed all the wires back in. I pulled it all back out and found that the white pin connector had unplugged itself off the back of the heigh 10.
