I know what it is, it's the skewp that weighs so much, it's causing your tires to rub. Get rid of that thing and instantly no more rub.:rofl::rofl:

You don't even rub the mudflap? Know if it's the same for 255/80/17 by chance?

255/85R16s on stock off road wheels. Not too sure on offset/backspacing of the sport wheels but I have no rubbing at full lock or stuff on stock suspension, gone through two 3rd gen ORs with the same set of tires.

Happen to know if they'd rub the mudflaps?

They absolutely would on stock flaps but I've removed mine because they don't tend to like getting jammed on roots and rocks. I've considered getting RokBlokz because they're lower profile and very flexible.

That's understandable, there's only one trail here where I'd be worried enough to take them off temporarily. I've been curious about Rokblokz/RekGen flaps. If the tires rub on a stock mudflap, wouldn't they rub on these too especially since they use the same mounting holes? Is the difference in the material where it'd be fine if they do?

They use the same mounting holes but stock mudflaps are made of rigid plastic with a ton of build up in certain areas reducing clearance by nearly two inches. RokBlokz are totally flat sheet plastic with semi-rigid properties, they are still flexible unlike the stock flaps. That being said enough friction will wear a hole in any type of plastic if it goes on long enough.

Gotcha, any reason why you're going Rokblokz and not rekgen? To me, they look the same but RG is $50 cheaper

I'd never even heard of Rekgen until just now so I looked into it. A little bit of rally cross experience, and also this article from a dude who drives a Tacoma and went ahead and bought both. RokBlokz have more flex, and apparently fit much better. He also details the "spacer" material and method which to him looked like pieces of fuel line causing the mudflap to stick out into the wheel well quite far, plus the hardware given was superior in the RokBlokz kit (all stainless, smooth capped screws vs sharp edged screws in the Rekgen kit). He also details how RokBlokz allow for extremely easy cutting and marked lines for perfect fitment if you have larger tires. Over all, RokBlokz seem better designed and I like the flexibility without flapping around. Rally people seem to agree, RokBlokz are superior in their world.
