Like the title says, I took my 3rd gen Tacoma on the Rubicon trail. The only modifications it has are 33s, rock sliders and a rear bumper.

We started from the lake Tahoe side and made it almost to the observation point. We had about .5 mile till the observation point, the truck did perfect till up to there. Sliders definitely came in handy in a couple spots tho lol.

This might be a sign for 35s...

    Stock....ish
Thats a good time on that part of the trail. I highly recommend skids and exhaust reroute as well if you decide to make your way down Cadillac.

That's rad, I've been wondering if I could take mine out there for part of the trail at least. Exhaust would be my concern as mentioned.

I know you said it’s “stock”, but did you have to do anything to get those 33’s to fit?

I made it to the top of Cadillac/observation point in my 3rd gen. Cost me a drive shaft on the way out tho. Lol Screenshot_20220209-151516_Photos.jpg Screenshot_20220818-193807_Photos.jpg

SHEWW lol that is a lil tight. Nice

I keep considering going from 265/75/16 to 285/75/16 but everyone tells me I’ll need to do some cutting

As long as you have sliders and you should be good. I don't think that you could make it past where I stopped if you want to keep your truck in one piece.

Saw this Suzuki do this section where I stopped. Gnarly

Doubt it. I've only rubbed on my inner fender once. You will rub on the UCA when your steering is maxed tho. Other than that 10/10 recommend

I have 285/75/17s, with a ~3” lift and a higher offset wheel, I grab the rear of the front inner fenders here and there WITH a cab mount chop. Need to do some more trimming higher up the liner. For what it’s worth

I'm also looking to upgrade to 285/75r17 or 255/85r17. What does your truck look like with 285?
