It’s more of a hobby then anything else I’ve enjoyed audio stuff since I was a kid. However I’m realizing the more I learn the more I don’t know but I’ve picked a lot from different threads here and other sources. I’ll post a couple pics but it’s nothing special lots of dudes on here with really nice setups. I have a 5 channel kenwood under the front seat powering everything now at 500rms total. The JL does a impressive job for the size I would definitely recommend one if someone wants to add a good amount of loud clean bass but wants to save as much space as possible. With its size though and more important the size of the shallow box it can’t move enough air to give you the bass that you can feel through your body. I’m going to build a carpeted board for the rear of the excess cab and secure the amps and subs to that. The mono will be on a switch inline with the remote wire so I can turn it completely off and listen to the system as it but when I wanna go to the skate park and tell all the kids enjoying there youth to fuck off I can turn it on lol. I wanna be able to deliver 1000 watts to it so 1500 for the whole system. Once you start doing the math even for something relatively low like this you quickly outmatch your stock alternator and battery. You have to start considering upgrading or you will have dimming light and shit and you won’t be able to really push your system for all it’s worth. Just realized this post is getting long sorry guys. I can post a couple pics or just get my ass out of here.

Gotcha. Yeah if you're running it in a sealed box you might try porting it. That sub in a ported box vs a sealed box will will be a LOT louder and will handle a lot more power so if you're looking to leverage what you have, a porting the box might get you to where you want to be (if you're in a sealed box right now). To give you an idea of how much louder, you'd have an extra 5-8db in the sub bass frequencies which is like doubling the power and doubling the number of subs. Which is pretty appealing for the low price of cutting a hole in the box and adding a pipe of proper length haha.

I picked up an OEM JBL sub and enclosure. I plan on tossing the factory sub and installing a good quality 8" in there for my system. Im non-jbl so once i figure out my headunit to go with, i 'll decide on amps and a sub for that box. Figured I would add some poly-fill since its only .66cubic feet and try something in the 250-300watt range to push whatever sub i go with.

One thing I’ve been working with since I started this is A bit of sound resonating in the front doors. I’ve got it worked out other than one mid bass frequency that I just can’t quite seem to get rid of. I’m also not super happy with the speaker adapters. I need to get some 3m caulking strips in them but it’s just a thin cheesy plastic so I’m probably going to buy some if I can find them or maybe make some. I really like the hd adapters from ********* but they have had some pretty poor reviews lately. I don’t want to order and then have to deal with delayed shipping or broken parts. I don’t really like there videos either I mean there nice looking women but not really what I wanna watch for a tech video.

You misinterpret my comment. I said that because you are wrong and your arrogance got you in a pissing match. As a result the thread is mostly useless.

and yet here you are in my thread like an addicted little pissant.

nah my dolby 2.0 man. i understood 100%, it was a little bit over your head perhaps. you are so uptight and utterly clueless (but not hopeless)

for the record i am exponentially more intellgent than you two shirtless hooligans, and that is saying very little. i am learning a lot here.

btw do you even know what dolby is? let me guess you drive a honda accord 1" from the ground with a diy whale fin and polyester interior?

you watch ronco food dehydrator informercials at 4am while you are walking your labradoodle?

join me and learn boy and stop complaining! its all in good fun.

Oh, I don't wanna hog all the fun. Surely there are others here who can benefit from one of the greater minds in the industry.
