Question: Once everything is installed, do you now have an open hole in the wheel well?

Anyone have photos on the other side of the sheet metal? Do you guys add ducting or is it just open?

There is another tube in the intake that opens to the inner fender area. This opens up a second hole right beside it. The wheel well guard still protects that area.

This kit comes with everything to add a second intake tube into the wheel well right next to the existing one. No open hole.

Is this the wheel guard you are talking about? Would you happen to have a photo with the wheel guard removed?

Take the airbox out, and you will see the hole on the left. There is a tube attached to the airbox that reaches through there. The tube on the right is the one that gets installed in the engine bay. (Don't mind the crooked cut. This was the original prototype that I had to trim down.)

The stock air intake taps into the fender well for two reasons.

    1) This is an area where the coolest air can be taken in.

    2) It's enclosed so no debris can enter the intake.

This is why it was the best idea to add a second intake tube in the exact same area.

Question after you guys are cutting the hole out what are you using to cover the exposed metal just touch up paint or something else?

I think a brush on touch up paint would be cleanest and easiest. Any auto parts place would have it.

I have some factory touch up paint (girlfriend already scratched it getting stuff out of her car in the garage) that I was planning on using. I figured that would be ok but was wondering if other people were doing that too or anything at all. Thanks

I plan on having my Taco for a long time so preventing rust is a good thing. Hahaha!
