Looks like to me we need someone to Crack the ecu so we can get a proper tune in there.

its a combo of mediocre canadian fuel, me driving like a grandpa all the time, and a rather warm day causing some knock most likely

This graph mimics what I feel when driving. Very inconsistent power delivery that seems to "surge" across the RPM band. I think it was set-up from Toyota this way...why?? That's a good question

This kit is designed to increase air flow so a high flow air filter certainly wouldn't hurt. For the kits I do for the tundra I suggest a K&N drop in replacement.

The charcoal filter built into the lid is to capture any left over fuel vapors. EnvironMeNtAl stuff.

That dyno looks like all the others I've seen if this motor. Goodluck cracking a toyota ecu. Best we can hope for is toyota coming out with a reflash but doubt there is even I small glimmer of a chance for that

I think to see the most gains, it needs a consistent width pipe from airbox to intake, but I would want to keep the resonator so not really possible. Looking at it yesterday, starts out good, tapers a little, then goes larger again.

K&N makes a Kit for the 5.7 tundra that replaces the tube from the air box to the throttle body. They say it's more free flowing.

I've seen guys buy this kit in addition to the SABM kit I do for the tundra and there seems to be a lot of excitement about the gains.

Looks to me like at 3600 RPM is where the duel injection kicks in . Seat of the pants feel is the same there at about 3600 .

Its actually the opposite. Dual injection shuts off. Makes more power on Direct only

Got it installed today. Very easy process. Initial impressions are good. Much throatier sound under load. I'll have to get some miles on it to determine if fuel economy and power are affected.
