    Hey all,

I’m about to install a diode dynamics 30inch light bar that has an approximate 18amp max draw.
I also have chase lights that are about a 2 amp draw.
Wrapping it up with ditch lights that I’m assuming are a few amps.

What is the max draw the stock tacoma battery can exert. Am I well under that “limit” if I run them all simultaneously?

I don’t have much knowledge in this aspect.

I haven’t looked at a dual battery or deep cycle system, and would personally prefer to keep it all stock there.

You should be completely fine running that additional draw.

You start adding some high wattage amps for your stereo or a lot more accessories and then you may want to recalculate your draw and consider upgrading to dual battery or similar.

Your battery is for starting and accessories when off... usually you don't run those lamps when the engine is off. The alternator is the device that power the electrical system when the engine is running. If it is a V6 with tow package,it has an output of 140 amps. It will run those lamps just fine.

Yes it’s a v6. I may be wrong, but don’t all the new tacomas come with a tow package?

the sticker from my truck had this so I’m assuming I have the package…

I believe the V6 do... I was just hedging my bets... maybe you had a 2016. Also, I am lazy and didn't read that you have a 2021 Off-Road. That would have told me you had the V6 with a tow package.

Well, the starter pulls about 250A when starting warm...

...that being said you care (like others have said) about the alternator max draw which is 140A.
