Sorry if this is in the wrong section, I'm new around here.

I picked up a winch from a buddy of mine for pretty cheap and want to know if there's any options on how to mount with the the stock bumper. I've seen options online but can't find any pictures of how they look or if anyone likes them.

Anyone running a stock bumper with a winch setup? How do you like it? Care to show some pics of it?

I really like the looks of that and I've seen those. Think that would be worth the money or should I go with something cheaper?

That hidden winch mount is probably your best bet unless you buy a new bumper like the arb. Not sure if I have seen anything cheaper that would work while keeping your original bumper.

Considering one of these hidden winch mount bumpers for my 2105 , previously had a winch/bumper pics below. Has anyone used these to winch using high angle or high load pulls? I got some movement/ twisting with my ARB on my 07 when I was required to winch at say less than a 45° angle. I'm just wondering about the close tolerances with thebumper / lower bumper valance area.last pic shows change in distance from fender flare to bumper after a heavy pull

The way I look at it is like this. you have 3 options.
    1. Get some sort of manual winch
    2. Put front rear hitches with mechanical winch
    3. Permanently mounted winch

I guess it boils down to what you actually need. I like to think I need a winch but most likely I just need a Hi-Lift.

Hidden winch mount. The bumper behind the plastic isn't stock but the look is.

If you don't want to modify the stock bumper, you could maybe put in a front end hitch receiver and use a hitch-basket to mount the winch (with enough wiring, this would allow you to use the winch on either end of the truck if you've got a rear 2 inch receiver as well.

U.S. Offroad is a solid bumper (just put mine on last weekend), and there's a couple similar partial bumpers and some that only require enough cutting of the factory bumper to pass the line/fairlead through (google undercover HWMS). Some of these seem to go in and out of production so check the fabricator websites for more accurate and current info.

I have a high clearance CBI front hidden receiver. It mounts the winch on a tray. I like it because I don't always have to lug the weight of the winch around. But absolutely you need to buy additional snatch blocks because you want to rig cable alignments to get the straightest pull you can, whenever you can. i would not attempt a 50 degree angle direct line pull (its possible to pull at that angle with a 3:1 system) unless it was a true emergency.

P.s. don't winch at a high angle unless you are soaking wet, it's raining, and you are stuck w no cell service, there is one tree (and you have your tree strap:tumbleweed: but no snatch block) and the sun is setting...

    Tin snips. Worked great.
Did need to use a cuff off wheel for removing the front tow loop/hook though.

4" grinder to cut off the tow/recovery loop that's welded to the frame.

I cut the plastic with an oscillating multi-tool, went like butter.

Do you know how much the CBI mount weighs? I didn't see it anywhere on their website. Getting ready to order my OME kit with 885s and just want to make sure its not too much weight up front.
