I recently bought a new '13 Tacoma 4x4 sr5 which came with 245/74/16 Dunlop grand trek at20 tires. I am on my first long trip since buying it and had a left rear flat at 1,400 miles on the truck. Best I can tell there are no cuts or pokes and no nails visible with all highway miles. It's sounds odd but looks like it just went flat. I planned on wearing these tires out before buying new ones but just seeing if anyone else has had issues out of dunlops. I'm assuming Toyota will replace it being so new but...

I've seen people call them DunFlops. The rugged trails also suck for any type of traction other than dry asphalt. They're just crappy stock tires, and many people replace them ASAP.

Strange that it just went flat like that though. Maybe the rim of the wheel needs cleaned up? Maybe just never had a good "seat" and finally broke loose on you. Take it to a tire shop, they might be able to remount it and have it hold up if its something like that.

I have 6k miles on those Grand Trek and they are mint... Maybe something was wrong with that particular tire! There is no reason Toyota wouldn't check this out...

Remove the tire, fil it up and dunk the tire or spray soapy water on the bead seat, sidewall and valve stem. Could be a small hole that was not leaking much until you parked it in such a way that allowed a lot of air to escape. I would recommend moving to a better tire if funds permit. My ltx ms2s were the best 'mod' so far.

If the tire is repairable, Toyota might fix it for you at no cost, but if the tire isn't repairable and needs replacing, Toyota isn't going to buy you a new tire.

Tire pressure monitor seal where the valve comes out of the rim? Sometimes that can be cracked, or if it gets hit during transport there can be a small leak.

As for the tires; I can't be much help as after the first rain storm sliding out of control on a simple turn they were removed at 1,000 miles. Problem solved and off to the recyclers. May they come back as something more useful.....

OP, tires are not warrantied by Toyota... this would fall under the manufacturer. You'll likely need to bring your vehicle to an authorized dealership of the tire manufacturer.

Unless you bought the extra warranty that covers wheels/tires, you're out of luck. I paid for it, it was like $600 and if anything happens to my tires or wheels, they'll fix or repair them for free. Almost got a new tire out of it already but it ended up being repairable.

You may have picked up a nail with a small head or the head broke off. It's hard to find punctures sometimes.

People here at TW aren't really fond of the tires that come with our Tacoma's. I run a the tires that came with the truck in the summer and have tires for winter. I did a partial winter with the stock tires and I would never again. They're okay in the summer. I find that's all that they're best for.

Tires are not under Toyota warranty. You will have to take it to a tire shop.images_c4914d32cd5f0e9612864df82c3fcf55ad1766c4.jpg
