My AT20's had the same problem. I requested a Toyota technician to inspect them, and I was told to seek an authorized Dunlop dealer for warranty issues on these tires. Of course I never bothered. Basically, my understanding is that these tires are designed to achieve excellent mpg so that Toyota can advertise the good mileage. Unfortunately, this comes at the expense of performance in pretty much every other catagory with the exception of tread life. I sold them for $280 bucks and bought real tires at about 15000km.

Step bars, billet grill with custom TOYOTA, MB Quart RSI 216 components, Hifonics ZXi 4410, RAAMmat deadened doors/back wall/roof covered with ensolite , 24" Magnaflow muffler, hand polished stock exhaust tip, tinted, OEM TRD Bilstiens all around with 1/4" spacers up front to level it out. Sport wheels added.
that indent is just part of the tire carcass, nothing to worry about. All of mine have it.

I run mine at 40psi. Stock is 29 psi. It'll round off the edges real quick at those pressures. Max is like 51, so 40 is no biggie. Rides just fine. ymmv
