On my 2014, I'd like to hack the tailpipe off where the exhaust dumps out right after the tailpipe goes over the rear axle. My question is...will that cause too much stress on the tailpipe where it comes out of the muffler. Cutting it this way would eliminate the rear hanger that is in the bend where the tailpipe turns towards the side of the truck, so there would be no hanger after the muffler hanger. Will the tailpipe break off from stress?? Anybody done this??

Tons of people done it. No issues. I'm not sure if they are cutting before or after the hanger. PM Moose1988, his is cut.

Some will say while sitting in the cab when stopped at a light, windows down, no breeze, 72 outside, 3 clouds, listening to ABBA, and then they see a small baby waving to them from a Prius that they can smell the exhaust fumes.

Mine and a lot of people on the forum have it this way without any trouble. On the back of the muffler there are two supports directly on the muffler and the piece of tailpipe leftover isn't heavy enough to cause much stress. Mine has been this way for quite a while now. Just keep the part you cut off INCASE it's needed for inspection in your area.

Thanks...that exactly what I was looking for! We have no inspections, so I'm in the clear on that.
