Thats EXACTLY what it is lol! Its a game of freaking half inches to get these big tire to fit. then when you start trying to fit 35s/36s in there with factory arms you have to have exactly the right amount of BS so you can turn adequately and chop out as much cab/body as possible.

I figure I have the rest of this year and next year on my current 35s before they are retired to street use and another set of off road tires needs to happen. Im tossing the idea of upping one more inch to 36s, but damn i bet one more inch of tire is going to take a disproportionate amount of work

7" over side? jesus bro wide enough?

255/85s will fit stock and with stock wheels. You will need to beat the pinch weld back and you will rub on the plastic in the front and rear wheel wells when you flex, but it won't hurt anything. You will also rub the frame when turning sharp, but again you won't hurt anything. The problem with tacos are when you start putting wider wheels on them they won't fit in the wheel well when stuffed. Tall and skinny fit better than wide.

Also if you do lift the truck ever DO NOT waste your money on a diff drop, it screws up the CV geometry even worse than lifting it.

5100's all around, 2.75 inch lift, polyurethane body mounts, gibson exhaust, variation of the deckplate mod, intake resonators removed 285-75-16 goodyear AT
Yesterday I put on a set of 285/75/16's I have sitting around and with the bilsteins at the middle setting it was clear that the biggest issue is hitting the frame, so I would say that 33's on stock height would be an issue. I also have one of those Tacoma's that have the rear axle off center a bit towards the back and that is an issue, moreso on stock height. I'll be adding a 1 inch body lift to help some of the clearance issues and the relocation blocks for the rear axle. Also after checking the fitment I ordered a set of 3/4" Bora spacers to deal with the frame rub issue and after reading the expeditionwest article maybe not a set of 255/85/16's, they also make 235/85/16's which are 32" tall possibly a better solution when doing a minimal lift. or no lift at all.

I would much rather take some frame rubbing at full lock than having to cut off most of the fender if you push it out with a spacer.

Being retired, for me this is all just playing so if I need to do some trimming I will, was actually thinking about it anyway. It all waits for my 1 inch body lift which is on backorder and being from the salt belt cleaning and re-oiling the frame takes precedent.

yea i hear that on the trimming... Ive been eyeing up some 34s or 35s and that will mean some fender chopping with my wore out ome 882s up front.
