Hi guys, does anyone know if they make an insert for your stock grill? Not an insert grill replacement but something that you can mount on the inside of your stock grill that protects your radiator from rocks, bugs, debris etc. I had these inserts in my old Jeep Rubicon that mounted to the existing grill and helped protect the radiator from debris. Just wanted to know if anyone had these on there Taco or know who sells them. I’ve been searching but haven’t had any luck. Thanks!

This is a very good suggestion, and, no, I have not been able to find any either.

The first picture is grille inserts I have had on my 2000 Ford Ranger since it was new. They've worked very well and have really made a difference in the appearance.

The second picture is my 2021 Tacoma TRD grille. You can see the huge openings in the "egg crate" cells. This grille is hardly any protection for the radiator, etc. I would like to see a screen insert that goes behind the grille and in front of the radiator. Or, something that clips into each of the open cells.

That's exactly what I'm talking about. My Taco grill has huge slits that allows pretty much any debris to hit the radiator. I loved the inserts that were made for my Jeep Rubicon. They worked great!

This is something that an enterprising person with a 3D printer could produce. The TRD grille has 22 identical lozenge-shaped openings (plus 7 odd-shaped ones around the center emblem). Just making snap-in inserts for the identical lozenge-shaped openings would mostly solve the problem. I'll bet there's a huge market for this.

I definitely agree with you on that. I’m surprised I haven’t found a product like this for the Tacoma’s yet other than the radiator protector. I have inserts made for my Jeep.

I just bought some grille mesh - cut it to size - and used some small zip ties and JB Weld to attach it.

The brand was Aramox or something. Sorry, no real pics of it. Maybe if you zoom in you can actually notice it.

    As a temporary suggestion.

Pop into the local Big Box DIY store. Buy a section of fiberglass window screen material, a fist full of zip ties.......

Install behind the grill, leave it a little loose and angle it a bit so the debris will be deflected down towards the road.

I like the mesh that you used. I could see it when I zoomed in on the pic. Please let me know if you remember the brand name. I looked up Aromox but I don’t think that was it.

Never mind I stand corrected. I found it. It was a typo on my part.
