I added the Timbren active off road bump stop kit with U-bolt flip kit (ABSTRFK). I’m running stock leaf springs, no lift. Problem was I didn’t have any clearance between the frame and the bump stop making any small bumps annoying. However G-outs or large bumps it felt great and much softer. Included part in the kit is A515-55.

I contacted Timbren and they quickly sent out a pair of new bumpstops. These were 1” shorter and rated for similar load (A170-75) They fit perfect but we’re a bit stiff. Softer than stock when hitting them but on the harsh side. I then ordered the softer bumpstop in the same size but softer compound from Michigan Truck Spring for $110 (A170-55). Timbren would send another pair for free but I didn’t want to take advantage :/

After comparing all 3, with no lift, the A170-55 road the best overall. Much softer than stock but not annoying like the larger A515-55’s. If I were to load up the bed with 300+lbs or tow a trailer I’d throw the larger A515-55’s back on to increase load capacity similar to using air bags.

Hope this helps if you’re looking for a stock height suspension upgrade!

See this chart to compare the specs of the Timbren springs.
    A515-55: included in kit
A170-75: bit harsh but right height
A170-55: overall just right for no lift

Was this in attempt to soften the bump stops or more load capacity?
If you want soft bump stops.
    DuroBumps. They are like clouds.

To get more space between the frame and the bumpstops at stock ride height. Not looking for load capacity increase. It’s recommended to have at least 1” between the stops and the frame for the best ride.

I went with the Timbren kit because it was on sale and the DuroBumps recommend a lift even with their shortest bump stops. From their website:
“The 3.5″ rear bump stop is intended for trucks with a rear lift of 2″
    No doubts about the ride!
