Stock LCA gusset's

    Has any tried to gusset- box the stock LCA's? Wondering how would be cheaper than buying after market ones.

    i had same question... i think I'm gonna do mine that way. the kit seems like a lot of work, why couldn't u just beef up the stock ones?

    Because with the stock one you are still limited to the range of motion that the lower ball joint has. Highly restricting binding in movement bushings (which I suspect are the culprits for cracking the welds on the welds which hold the bushings in in the first place) and overall thinner design which is obviously not as strong as something like a boxed arm which uses 1/4 plating.

    So what I'm trying to say is, that by the time you are done with actually making it stronger you will still have an overall thinner arm then a boxed one which in turn is less resistant to hits as the boxed one. An aftermarket one is just a better idea all around.
