I was wondering if any of you guys could post pictures of how much arc your stock leaf springs still have with an unloaded truck bed.
I've got an 08 I'm working on and it seems that mine are warm out and just looking for comparisons. Thanks.

Did the truck get new leaf packs from the recall?

    EDIT for pictures;

Here's a picture of the old bumpstop with the 2 leaf + 1 overload leaf
    BumpstopOLD.jpg

Here's a picture of the recall leaf pack showing the new bumpstop and the 3 + 1 leafs
    BumpstopNEW.jpg
If they are the original leaf pack, I'm sure they are flat or even negative arch.

I didn't do any measurements but pretty sure my stock springs have a negative arc

I got new spring packs a few years ago from the recall as well. Apparently there was some history of the individual spring leafs breaking and falling out causing accidents.

They don't look flat quite yet, but it could be the picture. Our rear springs are notoriously flat.

I have a 2015 TRD OR with about 100k on it. The suspension is....tired. I found a set of 2020 takeoffs cheap and was going to put those on but I got to looking at the rear springs and they are basically done. Would the ICON RXT springs fit the bill here or is that too much lift for a stock shock.

FWIW, I want to lift the truck but I need my dad to be able to get in and out of it. He has a hard time as it is....so another 3 inches or more is out of the question for now.

If you are not wanting to put on side steps after the lift, then stick with the OEM replacement.

Taking care of the pops is a huge priority

The stock rear shocks will work with stock height and up to a 1" lift... some say up to 2" if you're mainly doing normal driving. The problem with 2" lift if you're off roading and flexing the suspension the rear shocks could top out and blow the shock(s).

Those appear to be the TSB springs, TSB being Toyota Service Bulletin. It was NOT a recall, but a service bulletin, meaning enough people complained about "harsh ride with load" than they decided to address it, but not enough of an issue to warrant a recall. The originals were 2 springs and 1 overload, and they went to 3 springs and 1 overload (which you appear to have). I can't remember the year they started putting the 3+1 pack on the 2nd gen, mighta been 2012 when they did the front end refresh.

I honestly don't think your springs look all that bad. A SLIGHT negative arch isn't surprising, specially given the age. they are pretty flat, even new. You can prolly find some newer take-offs for cheap if you are worried about it, or there are a ton of aftermarket options for more $ depending on what you want: Lift, Travel, Load Capacity.

And here are my Deaver U402 Expedition Stage III leaf packs. Mainly wanted to show up @ChiefBrody and his cute RTX pack, my 9+2 vs his 8! JK man, all good stuff

I would....but the stock stuff is really expensive for what you get. Like around 1k$ for two springs, new bushings, shackles and stuff. I would rather buy a set of springs with a more progressive rate that would ride a little better. For that cost I might as well just go for a lower lift full replacement.

I use my truck like a truck.
    I haul stuff often.

The tractor below is not at all close to what I’ve hauled. Just to show that I do use the truck.

I installed full TRD Off Road suspension from a 2019 truck that had about 5K on it onto my '15 last year. Within a few months, the "new" OR springs were already flat. I don't use the truck as a "truck" very often, the biggest loads that I had in it were a bed of fire wood and it pulled a 5x10 utility full of firewood a few times. The springs are now "frowning", slight negative arch. t's just one more thing that this Taco has not impressed me with.
