I know these are affectionatley known as "Rugged Fails" but I've had these on since new and I find them to be a very good tire. They performed flawlessly through a harsher than normal Canadian winter. Just wondering why the nick-name? Is it that they suck in off road applications?

yes, they suck in the dirt, they are meant to look like off road tires on the street buck suck when you go off.
