The smart thing to do is what someone above suggested, find the same alloy wheel.

I’d do 4 of these in a heartbeat!
Different nuts and valve stems, white letters out I’m old!
Ditch the clear coat alloys pia.

[/GALLERY]I work out of my Tacoma 06 TRD Off Road. I have a Pilot Car/ Escort Business. I have 379,467 miles on it. I broke an alloy early on a rocky mountain trail( where they put oil rigs). At the time to replace the alloy paid for 4 steelies like my spare. $$ was important starting out in business. Lots of old time pilots said steel was better, cuz it's tougher the alloys. I ran the spare type wheels for several years, with no problems. I have been running the styled steel wheels for @ 12 years now. never had a problem with them. Wish tires were as tough

Thanks for this summary! I am thinking about picking up 4 steelies for my 2015.

The one question I am struggling to find a definitive answer on is the lug nuts. Does anyone have a recommendation on lug nuts to use with the spare steelies as a long term solution?

Seems like the stock lug nuts are fine, but there may be a better solution. Looking for input.
