'16 TRD Offroad with 265/75/16 tires on TRD Beadlock wheels. Hypothetical scenario... I'm driving on the freeway and have a flat on the front. Can I throw my stock (smaller) spare on the front and safely run it in 2wd for a few miles to get off the exit without messing up the drivetrain?

Don't you have a full size spare?

Stock fullsize spare yes, smaller diameter than the wheel/tire setup I'm running now.

Stock spare on a TRD offroad should be the same as the 265/70/16 tires that came on the truck. going up to 265/75/16 isnt that much taller and would be negligible especially only for a few miles. You will be fine

You should have no troubles at all. Remember, for a while manufacturers were equipping cars with spare that was a different size.

I was wondering about this scenario for a flat rear tire. I'm also running 265/75/16 with stock spare 265/70/16. Wouldn't the missed match sized tires do damage to the rear diff?

Could, yes. I wouldn't do it on a rear tire. But on a front tire in 2wd there's no power going to it so it won't hurt anything

If you have a locked rear end, different size tires would have everything in a bind, but the spider gears that allow us to turn corners and take curves (where one tire has to cover more distance than the other) will allow different size tires to operate without any problems.

Not for long periods of time... but yes for what OP wants to do...

Still would recommend putting the smaller in front in 2wd. Just for good measures and safety since the rear is the drive.
