Have the weak stock system w/ single CD. Have a chance to get a factory JBL system from an 07 for 100.00. Can anyone tell me the dif from the 2? If I install amp will it make a huge difference w/ the stock? Haven't made any plans on any upgrades yet. Is there any amp involved in either system? I don't see how there could be one in the one I have in there now. Have a 75w Clarion amp I can use. Don't know, even if I get the JBL if I'll need to upgrade speakers. I bought this truck very recently and it didn't even have a basic manual in the glove box. Said they would send all reciepts, etc. That was a month ago. Right.

I had the same issue with my stock single cd/non jbl.
Honestly for a $100, I bought a Kenwood unit with IPOD controls, front usb & aux port, Metra Fit Kit & wiring harness.
It installed easily by me, who never had installed a radio before & was the best $100 improvement.
There were DIY guides here, plus what Crutchfield sent with their kit. I also could choose between black or silver kit choosing black which I really liked.
From what I read here, the upgrading after the fact to JBL you are better off buying aftermarket.

I have pics in my gallery.

    Here are the pics
It was a Kenwood KDC-MP345U w/ a black metra kit.
Crutchfield gives you everything you need to install.
You can also get the kit in silver.

    I agree...

I changed out my headunit for a Kenwood KDC-X995 and was impressed with the sound improvment from the stock speakers.

Thanks. Now I'm getting it. I really like the look of the grid that's stock the aftermarket look good enough but don't think it stands up to the stock.

I looked at the grills for headsets on that site. Big help. Thanks.
