do to economy and my two careers being directly affected( lol, real estate and contracting...LOL...)

thinking a head unit (22RMS PIONEER?)

and something like alpine sp609 and sp600 or spr69c and spr17c....(6x9 and 6.5)

try to keep it on the south side of $400.00

Honestly, I dont need subs anymore and may or may not add an amp in future.

    Your thoughts?
LOL I didnt think they would hit double digits...
    lol thanks

Cool haha. Well anyway, with any 6x9 setup you could use an amp, but coming off your headunit, it would still pump. But be quite underpowered.

no, watts... that's how most stereos are rated, while every headunit that i know of runs 4 ohms some sub/amps combos could run as low as .5 ohms but those would be ones in a custom show car made to hit 150+ decibels.

wattage isn't as important as to the matching of amplifier to speakers, granted i am a little dissapointed with the tacoma's factory stereo, wattage isn't everything. a lot of manufactures are using big numbers to fool people since we are kind of brainwashed into thinking that the bigger the number means it's better. Bose goes in the opposite direction, they use so little watts that they don't even advertise it because people wouldn't want to pay over a thousand dollars for such a low wattage system. Personally i'd just change the headunit first since most times they have many audio filters and adjustments that far surpass the stock stereo, and then if the sound still isn't up to par then i'd chage the speakers. I haven't changed my headunit yet so i don't have a good opinion about the quality of the stock speakers yet

it's not the size of the magnet, it's what kind of music it plays ;)

yeah... thank god toyota puts their money into the truck not the stereo... I am happy with truck and perfectly fine with cheap stereo...
buy american made truck...have a little better stereo and an inferior truck.... one mans opinion there.

Once I get this stereo sorted out there really isnt anything to do to truck...
