i like the ring u left around the edge, to keep it from being messed up when wheel weights when u get new tiers. im gonna add quite a bit of black and a little red to mine before too long and will prolly leave the outside ring alloy. how much of a pita was that to tape?

Not to bad on the tape. Get really good painters tape and just attach the edge as you are circling.

I had to come in this thread to check it out when you stated "stock tires painted..." because I was thinking who in the WORLD would be painting the TIRES? Hahaha

    Same here.

Although I've seen hundreds of stock wheels painted black and never really liked any of them, I do like the way yours came out with leaving the lip silver.

Weathertech floor liners moded to hold OEM floor mats, weathertech vent visors, Toyota bed mat, LEER 100XL cap, hood gasket mod to stop whistling.
I'm not a fan of blacked out rims, but I must say that the silver around the edge looks good with the black.

Update - Paint job is holding up ok. I've had the tires replaced and then rebalanced again after that. They are mud & snow BF Goodrich All Terrain TKO's and seem to be tough to balance perfectly.

I touched up the edges where my taping was suspect with success. The taking of the tires on and off produced a chip and the plastic center caps needed touching up. Easy with a small paint brush.

Would I do it again? Yes for $20 and some elbow grease I produced a rim that I like over the stock rims.

I would like to see more info on that camper!

Wheels look nice by-the-way. I like the silver ring - I have never been a fan of all-black wheels.

Edit: Okay, I found the camper build thread. Awesome
