Bought an 2001 reg cab 4x4 today with no mods and 225 75r15. Rims and tires need to be replaced due to rust and wear. I have 265 75 r16 Duratracs on my 03 TRD but they rub just tad so Im thinking this is not a good choice for the 01. Will the stock 16 TRD rims fit my 2001? If I go with custom rims what would be a safe non-rub choice? I saw alot of threads on 16 and above sizes but not many on 15s. Thanks

The 03's should fit on the 01'. Now its not going to be the type of rim but size and backspacing will be the more important issue. You dont hear a lot about 15"s wheels cause at least with the 2nd gens, you can only fit 16"s and higher on those. Use the search feature and look around.

Thank you for the info. I have 225 75r15's now and have found some new 215 85r16's DuraTracs that are under $140 but can't tell from the "tool" if these will fit. They say 265 70R16's will fit so the 215 85r16's are a tad shorter and narrower. Anyone using this size on a 2001? Also when I go to purchase rims if I go with these, what BS should I use ...3.75? Honestly, I'm still trying to determine if I want to stay with 15s or go to 16s. Cost is a factor.

I'm not sure if this is true but someone told me 15" tires are getting harder and harder to find since most wheels now from the factory are over 15"s.

I am leaning to the 215 85r 16's and buying new rims. On the rims am I seeking a 16x7 with a 3.75 BS?
