good looking truck. I really like those wheels too and actually prefer them over the Tacoma pro wheels. What suspension are you running? I’ve had bad rub in reverse on vehicles before and don’t want to walk down that road again lol. Thanks!

Pro wheels 16x7 +13 which is narrower and has a higher offset than most aftermarket wheels people buy. One of the most common aftermarket wheel sizes is 17x8.5 +0 which sticks out 1.25 inches further than stock pro wheels (you can see how there would be clearance issues there) and is 1.5 inches wider so you lose inner clearance as well.

Running stock pro suspension front and back, but added a 1in block in the rear because I like the look of stock rake.

Super helpful thread. I am upgrading my tires on stock 2021 TRD Pro from stock size 265/70R16 to either:
    265/75R16
    Or....
    285/75R16
I am definitely set on KO2’s but am curious on the mileage hit I might take between these two sizes that I am considering.
I’m pretty convinced that a TRD Pro can accommodate the larger 285’s even in most of the dirt that I will get into with little or no rubbing at all (except for some Moab trails) and don’t care a whole lot about mileage, but just curious.......

Thanks so much for being willing to share all of your knowledge and wisdom!

Has anyone been able to fit their spare tire with a 285/75/16?

Not quite the same, but close enough. I fit a 285/70/17 in the spare tire area. Fits very snug, though I’ve heard some people need to use a hammer to give the bottom some “persuasion”.

Interesting. Im running same sema wheels with 265/70/17 KO2s and they "touch" the front mudflaps. I dont understand how yours dont rub, not even on the wheel well liner?

    Looks killer man.

Not running mudflaps in the front. After adding the TRD pro suspension, I gained a 1 inch lift. I got an alignment and asked the tech to max the caster while having both toe and camber near zero. I was able to get 2.5 caster. The wheels had minor rubbing on the liner, to which I took a dremel and heat gun, which solved the problem. Rubbing was only minor, and no CMC was done.

Very helpful tread. Just got my 2021 SR5 dcsb 2wd. Not planning on doing any crazy off roading. Just put in this week billies 5100 all around with an add a leaf in the back for loading purposes (nothing too heavy) and also 285/75R16 Wildpeaks. Now its rubbing on uca on full flex. I’m waiting for 1.25 hub centric spacers to be delivered tomorrow to hopefully fix this issue. If not, might need to do some heat gun work and minor trimming. Trying my best to stay away from cmc.

It’s overcast today so the pic is not that great! (Maybe some better pics tomorrow)

So, I was on the fence like most on here couldn’t decide on 265 or 285 and man I am here to say, thank goodness I went with 285’s because it looks insane in person. I took off the front mud flaps before the install just to make sure there was no rubbing on the way home and It didn’t. I did get a slight rub somewhere but very slight while backing in to driveway up a incline. Nothing to be concerned about whatsoever. I did put the aftermarket flaps back on and then it rubbed, (again a slight rub) going to try and take a heat gun to it and see what it does. If not, then the fronts come off. No biggie!! Theres a slight difference on how it drives but again its hard to really to notice.
Other then that, I’m super stoked on how it rides and how it looks....

    it looks Dope!!
im looking for almost the same set up, i have a SR5 2021 RWD, but wasnt sure if the 5100's would fit because according to most part websites they say it fit only till 2020 models. could you tell me the part numbers of your shocks please? and on what position did you set them

im thinking in only going with 265/75/16 and a custom wheel, around 0 to -10mm offset
or possibly staying with the factory wheels which are +25mm offset but dont know if it will rub.

Stock 2020 trd pro, getting a set of 285/75R16 general grabber ATXs tomorrow. We'll see how it goes. Might need to do a small spring lift on the front once I get a bumper and winch in the front

285 75 r16 on 2020 trd pro. General grabber ATx. Paid $905 mounted, balanced, and front alignment. So far they feel great. I notice the 1 inch lift, power loss is noticable but only if I really concentrate. I'd say about 3%-5% power loss maybe. So far driving feels pretty much the exact same. Will report later on mpg difference. As well as speedometer difference. I may have a guy re calibrate the speedo if it's bad. By the math, should be off 5 mph at 75 mph. Just got these on today, will have to go wheeling soon to see if any rubbing. Turning outside I have less clearance than turning inside, but clearance is clearance. I went through a quick drainage ditch today and no rubbing yet. Definitely recommend if you want the extra grip and clearance and I guess the look as well. But definitely need the 1 inch lift from the pro and the pro wheels with this exact offset.
