custom tan leather seats, bed track system bike rack, Vision Warrior wheels, smittybilt nerf bars, Extang BlackMax tonneau cover.
mine could have been a mix of the middle two choices.

mostly stock with light mods (interior, nerf bars) and also new wheels & tires.

Since when does a a lift kit and/or aftermarket bumper count as an EXTREME!!!! mod? I think of extreme mods as SAS, exocage, glass fenders, etc

Do what makes you happy, but the guideline that I use is that there will be no resale value on any mod that I do. And if you do anything but simple mods, like 3+ inch lift, much larger tires, etc. then you can affect the resale negatively as that cuts the number of buyers down to those that want those particular mods.

Personally, I look negatively at anything but simple mods in a used car/truck, as that doesn't tell me that the PO took care of it, but wanted more out of it, so it is probably "more used".

If you do drive it 'til it's dead, it doesn't matter what you mod it with....

If you are concerned with resale, don't do anything that can't be reversed....

just balance any considered mod to what others done here , weigh the pros/cons , warrantees.

I moded 1999 Taco so much it had turned to Land Cruiser
    x2 million :D:cheers:
if plan is to keep truck long then mods will not make a difference on resale.

EDIT: Only mod that will hurt resale value is painting your truck pink

While I'm still making payments on it, I keep my warrantied parts stock (or keep the stock parts close at hand).

I generally find that minor accessories like iPod connectors, tonneaus, bike racks, and even some aftermarket wheels are good for keeping resale. As long as you don't expect to get back what you paid for those.

I fully expect I could get at least what I have remaining on my payments if I were to sell it outright today.

I would leave it stock and not do any mods, if you have doubts in your mind, i would only mod, once you are comfortable doing it with no regrets.

I agree w/ everyone in that your neighbors correct about the resell. Buyers and dealers want vehicles as stock as possible. I had to remove my mods for the dealership when I traded my truck in.

Really, it depends on how long you own it or if you leasing it.

If it's going to be yours for years, then what are you worried about and you should mod it to your liking. If only owning for a year or two, keep it stock and save your money. My $0.02.

Stock is "middle of the road" do you want to drive down the middle of the road with everyone else?
When I was a teenager - I would spend my paychecks upgrading my hot-rod, my Dad would ask what was wrong with the stock this or stock that.... as a teenager I knew everything, and kept it short and sweet.... Stock is Bad!

Now my wife says it too, especially for simple bolt on horsepower.... Intake and exhaust…
Keep it clean – no not a pavement queen – clean installs – save stock parts and weigh the options at resale time…. I offered the stock air-box to the buyer of my Tundra, and he looked at me like I was trying to give him something for his recycle bin.

Don't sell the truck, drive it until it falls apart around you then get a new one.

My vehicle purchase history doesn't favor me spending gobs of money modding.

    And, I don't do used.

    I don't own them long...But, I own them 1st. :D

That is my intention also. Even though I would liike to put on a 6 inch lift, it is not practical for me. I work in Washington DC and when I drive in to park, the particular garage I use is barely a 6 foot clearance. My radio antenna is dragging the ceiling all the way down into the lower levels of the garage. I have done things like added a CB radio, led lights for the interior, mounted an UltraGauge, Redline hood struts and a K&N Series 63 Intake. This weekend I will be installing the OEM skid plate and currently waiting on my grill from the GrillCraft group buy that is currently going on. In the spring I will defintely put on new wheels and tires. Still thinking about the 5100s for the fron to level out the truck.
