I have a question. Has anyone ever had a LCA failure with a first gen?

    That is all.

Also what specifically would need to be done to the LCA to improve the alignment range? I'm thinking you would want the ability to dial in more negative camber since the lift causes more positive camber. Would that mean you want the LCA to be slightly longer?

Isn't a brand new OEM Toyota arm less than $200?

Not sure what that has to do with stock replacement LCA's.
But no. I payed $1600 for my supercharger and $2600 for the LT kit.

Point is why are you concerned about how much money other people spend on there truck when you got that much in yours?

Pretty sure all this cost more then 2600…

So let me get this strait. I asked an honest open ended question. And you assume I'm calling your baby ugly and proceed to try to make an analogous statement to long travel and a superchager?
I guess simple logic is beyond you. Saying something is "better" when it doesn't even exist and comparing it to a stock one...which have never failed. :der:

You...sir...can spend your money on anything you want. I could care less what anyone spends there money on. But still the internet...I can make obvious statements as I please. Don't like it? Feel free to fuck off and put me on ignore. :cookiemonster:

Oh arn't you the happy little edit monster. I said how much I payed for the LT kit, not how much it cost to build my truck.

    Intake, exhaust, lift. Typical stuff.
But all of that makes Jason's truck a panty dropper; price is irrelevant when your truck drops panties.

I understand the "benefits" of aftermarket LCA's but I'm finding it hard to understand the effort and money that will be invested in them. If they are like $300 a pair I might consider it but at $1500... Fagetaboutit.

If they were able to change up the stock retarded ball joint design and/or figure out a way to do a uniball while retaining the stock spindle, i'd be all for it.

But if they just reuse the stock lower ball joint, i'm set. Like Jason said, i've never seen a stock LCA break and i've put mine through all sorts of hell.

    Winner winner chicken dinner!
And at that point, you're going to be well beyond $1500. Since the factory steering uses the factory LBJ, replacing with a uniball means fabricating a new mount point for the tie rod. Which no doubt would be attached to the newly fabbed "uniball adapater." And since you're changing tie rod points as well as adding in the extra thickness of a uniball...let's not forget about bump steer. Even with that, you'd still be stuck with the stock shitty 4 small 14mm bolts that will bolt into the bottom of spindle...which as we all know are the other weak point beyond the LBJ itself. Unless of course you build a whole new fabricated spindle....

Replacing OEM bushings with OEM/OEM type is simple. Bring me the arms, new bushings, ONE beer and a good joke and I'll have it done in half an hour. That's all 4.

    You tell em.

The only actual "failures" I have seen are the bushing eyes and that was brought on by abrasion from the rocks. Simple plating and or skid plate design will take care of that.
Caster improvement? Sure but keep in mind the steering arms are part of an OEM LBJ. See below.

    Beat me to it.

You're going to offend gray223 with obvious and logical statements and he's going to go into your builds and copy and paste a bunch of shit from the first post that you never update.
