I really outta mount my fire extinguisher properly. Mine is in the storage bin under the rear driver side seat. I only carry one because it is a requirement at a private OHV park I visit frequently.

Boats are required by law to carry one, but I never mounted mine properly either. It was tossed in one the open storage bins where the fishing poles, paddle, etc were stored.

Here in Minnesota, grass fires caused by hot exhaust are rather rare, but not unheard of. In my youth a few of us were beating on a Toyota Corolla in a set-aside farm field adjacent to my buddy’s home. The grass was dead and dry. We got the corrola stuck and it started a grass fire while we were fetching the tractor. Panic ensued, but we managed to throw enough dirt on the fire to put it out. Too be young and stupid again. Good times!

I bought a mini fire extinguisher thinking I would eventually buy a mount for it ... does not last long but the house-sized ones are only good for about 18 seconds anyway. Until I get a mount, I store it behind the driver rear seat wall of my DC ... fits at the edge of the seats just before the door itself ... not seen when that seat-back is up.
