Just came across this, it was my truck that was stolen! Thanks Banana Mamich for posting this. It's been quite a while now since the truck was taken from us. What is really scary is that the area in which they found items from my truck inside another stolen vehicle is the same location in Denver where there have now been two shoot outs with cops leaving each car thief dead. Before hearing of these incidences, I had actually gone to this area to look for my truck with the intention of being willing to put up a significant fight against whomever I could encounter with my truck. I regret this choice now that I see how willing these bad guys are to kill for their own freedoms and get away. I only came with anger and an ice axe, no gun and thus I think it could've ended up really bad for me if I had come across the truck. I had liability insurance only because of the truck's age and how I have never taken out an insurance claim made it seam wastful. Hindsight is a beautiful thing but ultimately is just that, hindsight and is now worthless to kick myself in the ass for not having full coverage. Nothing anyone could've said would have gotten me to pay for full coverage. Since that truck was paid for, I had that choice but now my new 06 is fully covered not by my own choice but because it's financed. Shitty. I would still have liability only if I could and I would just use a LoJack system. Anyway, I'll keep ya'll posted if the truck ever turns up. They at least found the backpack that I have since replaced :/

I don't believe this to be sound advice.

I pay $86 per month for full coverage. $1032 per year. Assuming my premium never goes down for age, that's $10,320. Ten year old Tacos are easily fetching over 10k.

Sullivan - good thing to keep your new Taco fully covered, your choice or not. Unless one is in the position where losing 10-20k is not a big deal, better keep it fully insured.
