    Wouldn't you like to know!
I used to install GPS trackers in fleet vehicles and Oil field equipment. Fleetmatics was the best around 5 years ago to my knowledge. This has me thinking I need to install some kind of tracker on my taco as well.

If you have an old iPhone, hard wire it and use a FreedomPop Sim card. Their low data plan is free. Then tracking can be done by find my iPhone.

Police found mine 6 months later in tact as I left it pretty much. Only changed step rails from chrome to black and put a TX sticker on the bed side. I live here in LA where the boarder is close. They found it 2 hours north of me in bakersfield in a yard with 5 other trucks. GL OP

Agreed. It is time to start looking at a replacement. I am thinking about going with a new tacoma. Looking for opinions on TRD Pro or going the TRD OR route and putting an OME BP-51 kit on it? Thoughts? Is the PRO Really worth that price? Would the OME lift out perform the TRD Tuned Fox on the PRO?

OR with the BP kit, wheels and tires, alignment CMC (if you go 285s) UCAs etc will probably come close to the pro's price tag - if you go with the pro, only thing you'll need to replace is those stock tires.

As far as performance, (I'm comparing apples to oranges here) I replaced my pro suspension with icons - but my pro came with the bilstein suspension, not the fox. On road, I don't notice much of a difference, Offroad it's much nicer on the icons.

just my opinions - sorry about your truck man. Good luck with getting a new one!

Yeah Pro's are nice and all but they're overpriced for what you get and still very road mannered to meet saftey regs and the like, you're wallet and wheeling is better off starting with a TRD OR and modding it how YOU want it not DOT.

I always saw the pro badges as bro-ragging rights and for guys who want a capable truck but never intend to wrench or mod it themselves.

FYI after re-reading my post it sounds like I'm in favor of the pro - I'm 100% advocating the OR with the OME kit. If you want the pro, get it - but your money is better spent on the OR with new suspension. I fell into a good deal (used) with my 2nd gen pro - but I had an icon kit already sitting in the garage for install.

The pro is nice, but overpriced.even look at the sr5 4x4. You can add the locker and all other things and still come out better and cheaper than the pro price.

Especially if you plan to upgrade the suspension I wouldn't bother with the Pro unless you have money to burn and don't care.

sorry for your loss op. :(

can you put 285's on those 3rd gen pros without changing absolutely anything else? if so then it might be worth it, otherwise id agree with modding a sport or offroad instead.

Sucks indeed. Sadly, a rig like this is most likely in a Hanjin shipping container on the way over to the sandbox...
