And some people make it easier with social media, posting pics and talking about being away on vacation. Might as well leave the door open with a sign "Nobody Home, Come On In"

When theft under $900 is not prosecuted under CA law, this is what you get. ( just read first few pages, sorry if this was already stated)

Since the threads don’t extend to end of the studs, you might try slipping an oversized washer over end of one or two of the studs and use a spot weld, (away from threads) to hold washer in place and hope bumper thief didn’t bring a grinder. Washer will prevent getting a socket on the nut but easy for you to grind off spot weld if you need to remove bumper.

Where do you live in San Diego? It is pretty safe in Vista except for a few places you can identify on the crime maps.

Heh heh. I know what you mean. I park at Bear Roots Brewery, but they have a large glass front so we can look out. I just don't hear an uproar about crime around here. We are essentially a "small farm town" (by SOCAL standard). I'm sure one get get in trouble in the wrong place. Pomelo Drive (south of 78 off of Hacienda) is a bastion for theft and drugs. Lots of apts.
