it most likely someone who drives by or lives near by and sees the trucks there all the time. and knows how long it is there for. hopefully you guys can find some leads as to who it is. might even consider setting up the truck as bait if you really want to take it that far?

Suprised this doesn't happen more actually. Figure tailgates take about 30 sec to steal. You can have a vehicle sitting on the rotors in less than 5 min. Honestly if 2 or 3 dudes really want to strip a vehicle 1 hr is more than enough time. Tailgate, anything in the bed including a shell, tonneau or spares, exhaust (hell, cats too), bumpers, then shocks and wheels/tires. In that order. Then the ole b&e and strip the interior
When I wrecked my taco last year, I had less than 1 hr to get what I wanted off it from the wrecking yard with minimal tools. I was able to get my soft topper, entire system (subs, amp, speakers) clazzio seat covers, bed ext and accessories, grill, rear shocks, a bunch of other little crap, I was suprised that if I actually knew what I was going to try and get I could've gotten way more off it with the right tools.

I remember as a kid living in Riverside in the mid 90s, our neighbor had a corvette. Hella cool car. Came out one morning and the entire car was stripped. Like body panels and frame rails were about all that was left. Motor and trans had been pulled, wheel and tires gone, hood, all of it gone. Amazing what someone with intent can do. And being back in the 90s, they ran an extension cord from his front door to the car to power the tools used to strip it!
