    x2!
    not just the chipped keys....
But to steal a lifted tacoma that doesn't exactly "blend in" with the rest of the cars on the streets.

    sucks nonetheless

Sorry, I know this is after your loss but this can help next time. If you were to buy a cheap smart phone and install free "Mobile Phone Locator" app. And hardwire a charger and hide the charger and phone inside the dash some were. Then you will have location of were it's at and if it is on the move. All for a cheap monthly cost of the phone. This is better then Lojack

Best wishes finding your truck. Toyotas have had RFID (Chipped) keys since the mid 2000's. My 08 Tacoma Sport has it and the red flashing light to the right of the clock is that security system. Most of the manufacturer systems can be easily bypassed by the pro. There are far too many stolen vehicles of all sorts for them to be tow jobs. NICB says only about 5-10% might involve towing. Many cars have to be flat-bedded anymore. I had a Ravelco put on mine very soon after I bought it. I am out in the boonies a lot and can' trust cell phone or Lo-Jack to have service...and there are jammers available for less than $200 that take out these systems completely, GPS, too. Alarms...when was the last time you called the police about an alarm going off. Check out the testimonials at www.Ravelco.com and see what I mean. Hope the truck and the thieves are found!
